Veterans Administration Watch
While most VA Hospitals have come light years in service and medical care for our Veterans, some are still miles behind the curve. We here at Veterans Voice of America attempted some years ago to harness some of the "political clout of 25 million votes" as Veterans can decide any election were we to galvanize into one voting "Block."
We launched a nationwide Veterans newspaper to be a "Voice" that would be listened to in regards to what issues are most vital for us. Unfortunately the recession hit and the print newspaper business fell because the internet and the recession broadsided print media at once.
Our media group put Veterans news on the "back Burner" with most of our news projects until we learned how to operate as a Web based organization.
We have studies that tell us to wait at least two more years to take up the battle again. But a funny thing happened on the way there. Our investigations of over 10 hospitals/clinics from coast to coast has revealed too many VISN's have too many employees that need re-training or directions back to where they came from.
Sub-standard service and care at VA hospitals must be corrected now and never allowed to surface again. Our Brothers and Sisters in Arms trained and performed to the highest standards of excellence and at the cost of life, limb, and sanity. The Government's bureaucratic 'cushy' jobs for mediocre lazy ungrateful underachievers can be a thing of the past when Veterans make known their wishes with the 'vote."
Service organizations which are Government funded, must also be overhauled to fight for Veterans Claims no matter how hard the work is. It is supposed to be men & women working for the Veterans as a "calling" not first and foremost a paycheck. The legislative process for Veterans issues has affected lobby efforts by Service Organizations in exactly the same way Washington corrupts every lobbyist and political action committees and surrogates.
New strategies for recruiting staff in these areas can find 'models' in using young "Law Interns" and other college students both civilian and military and even practicing attorneys "Pro Bono" must be formulated and implemented.
These are our goals.
